I am a deeply compassionate and thoughtful counsellor, known for my gentle approach and strong commitment to understanding each person I work with. Alongside this, I bring a wealth of knowledge developed through years of experience and ongoing professional learning.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with individuals experiencing serious mental health challenges in both hospital and community settings. This has shaped my passion for supporting people who have experienced trauma, including Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), PTSD, childhood trauma, abuse, and attachment difficulties.
I have a strong interest in evidence-based trauma therapy and regularly attend professional training and trauma conferences to deepen my knowledge and ensure my practice reflects the most up-to-date approaches. I believe that combining knowledge with compassion is key to creating meaningful and lasting change.
With over 20 years of experience in healthcare, I have also supported individuals and families navigating chronic illness, disability, and life-changing injuries. These experiences often bring complex grief, loss, and emotional overwhelm, and I work alongside my clients to help them process these feelings and find ways to cope, adjust, and move forward.
I also offer carer counselling, supporting those caring for loved ones who may be struggling with illness or additional needs. I understand the emotional impact this can have, including stress, burnout, guilt, and boundary challenges, and provide a supportive space where carers can focus on their own wellbeing.
My work extends to supporting clients with anxiety, OCD, stress, burnout, and depression, including health anxiety and the impact these can have on daily life. I have a particular focus on health and wellbeing, helping clients to reconnect with themselves and prioritise self-care in a way that feels realistic and sustainable.
I have a special interest in working with neurodivergent clients, including those who are autistic or have ADHD, particularly adults who may have been diagnosed later in life and are beginning to make sense of their experiences. I also support parents of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), understanding the unique challenges, responsibilities, and emotional impact this can bring.
In addition, I support clients exploring identity, meaning, and purpose in life, as well as those who have experienced spiritual abuse or are processing difficult experiences connected to faith or belief systems.
I am a qualified counsellor, a registered member of the BACP, and a qualified Clinical Supervisor. These roles reflect both my commitment to high professional standards and my dedication to supporting not only clients, but also other practitioners in their development.
At the heart of my work is a belief that every person deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported. It is a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they navigate their individual journeys, offering both knowledge and compassion to help them make sense of their experiences and move towards healing and personal growth.
Rebecca's approach combines evidence-based trauma therapy with deep compassion and a gentle, unhurried style. She works collaboratively with clients, drawing on the most up-to-date approaches to help them process their experiences, adjust, and move forward at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
